The Oriana Singers

The Oriana Singers are composed of sixty women representing a wide variety of majors at Penn State University Park campus. Their repertoire includes music written for treble voices from the sixteenth through the twentieth centuries: Madrigals, motels, part-songs, folk songs, musical theatre, and music by female composers. Conductor for this performance will be Dr. Anthony Leach. The York County Honors Choirs will join The Oriana Singers on stage to perform a few songs.

The music of the “Man in Black” ignites the stage in the new Broadway musical Ring of Fire, featuring thirty-eight signature songs from the legendary Johnny Cash. Stories of passion, redemption, humor, and salvation set the stage ablaze in this musical celebration of the world's most famous rebel. Hits include; "Walk the Line,” "Hurt,” “Jackson,” “I’ve Been Everywhere,” "Folsom Prison Blues,” “A Boy Named Sue,” and the title track "Ring of Fire”. With smashing medleys and a hearty bounce in its guitar-driven step, this shindig will have you stompin’ your feet and shoutin’ for more!
Student Discounts to Ticketed Performances:
Through the generosity of the Student Activity Fee Committee, Penn State York students may receive a $10 discount on most ticketed performances. To receive the ticket subsidy, purchase your ticket from the Bursar Office (121 Main Classroom Building) and present a valid Penn State ID+ card. Enrollment and Student Activity Fee eligibility will be verified at the point of sale. Note: there is a limited number of ticket subsidies available. Once these have been exhausted, there will be no further discounts. Not all performances are eligible for the subsidy. This offer may be withdrawn without prior notice.
The free Cultural and Performing Artists Series is sponsored by Penn State York with support from the York Newspaper Co., the Penn State York Student Government Association, and the Student Activity Fee.
